How to become a Barrister flowchart

I was on twitter in the last few weeks and came across this flow chart.. I thought it would be useful to share for all of you considering becoming a Barrister at some point in the future (or those you just want a better understanding of the process).

It was shared by @chambersstudent and you can check out their website here chambersstudent.co.uk and I would highly recommend that you check them out, or follow them on twitter.

The ‘becoming a Barrister’ flowchart can be found on this link (and it has been retweeted a fair amount on twitter) http://www.chambersstudent.co.uk/the-bar/how-do-you-become-a-barrister I will also upload a copy here but it will probably be too small to see.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to Chambers Student for letting my share the link on my blog!

Also it is important to note that whilst this has dates down the side,  the process and time scales apply to any year that you wish to embark on the various stages.  Equally, I know plenty of people that have taken various career or travel breaks in between some of these stages.

So for any one considering a career at the Bar maybe just use this as a guide/tick list of things you need to do in order to become a Barrister one day.
