Diary of a part time BPTC student… Part 5

So this week I have been fairly busy in all things legal, BPTC student, Middle Temple member, blogger related.

On Sunday I attended the University of Hertfordshire Open Day (and I will upload a separate blog about that) but it was lovely to chat to prospective law students, and their parents, and answer any questions they have, and hand out a few blog postcards.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I attended my first Qualifying Session dinner – which was interesting!  It was dinner followed by a Moot Final, and I was lucky enough to meet some lovely girls before dinner and we all sat together.  The Moot was really good, the judges intervened a lot, but it was amazing to see.

Something peculiar did happen on Tuesday at the dinner, and I am not sure if I should blog about it or not, but as I don’t know the person’s name then I guess it is alright to share with you. Prior to walking into dinner, I got chatting to a girl that didn’t know where Middle Temple hall was, which was a little surprising but I went along with it.  She then proceeded to tell me that she was actually at Lincoln’s and her friend couldn’t attend her final Qualifying Session so she was coming along instead.  I don’t know who this girl is, but if you are going to pretend to be someone else, don’t go around telling people, as you have no idea who any of us are, whether we work for Middle Temple etc.

I did meet a really nice girl who is studying the Two Year Accelerated LLB at the University of Law, and we are both going to Middle Temple’s Grand Day, a week on Thursday, a black tie dinner.  It will be nice to see a friendly face, and it always makes networking that little bit easier.

This coming Saturday I am off to The Bar Council’s Annual Bar and Young Bar Conference.  I will be tweeting about it during the day using the #BCYBC15 as well as blogging about the event sometime in the coming weeks.

This is my second weekend at BPP for the BPTC and I will be missing sessions on Saturday to attend the conference (but given the legal climate I think it is important that I attend the conference), then I will be heading to BPP on Sunday for classes.  A busy weekend ahead but I really can’t wait to get back to class, especially as I have already done all my prep, and am just going over my notes again (not-so-secret-legal-geek!)

Keep an eye out next week for the next instalment of #diaryofaptbptcstudent
