Update – July/August 2014

So it has been ages since I last posted on here, and I am sorry about that but everything has been quite manic.  I am going to start posting once (and aiming for twice ideally) a week – so do check them out!

So this post is going to be a slight update of what I have been up to over the last month or two… I am currently writing this on a plane to Miami, but by the time I upload this I will be back home in hopefully a sunny England (it definitely isn’t very sunny..more like winter!)

– So at the moment I am busy researching away for my dissertation, I had all my initial ideas back in January/February time and have been doing bits of research along the way – technically this all doesn’t start until October when Uni recommences but I wanted to be a bit ahead in terms of research!

– I cannot quite believe that I am entering the final year of my law degree this September/October – in roughly 6 months I will have finished and part of me is so excited to call myself a law graduate but equally I know how much I am going to miss studying my degree.  After wanting to study law at Uni since I was little to being months away from completing my degree is an extremely bizarre feeling.  Unfortunately I technically don’t graduate until November 2015 as Herts Uni seem to hold their graduation ceremonies very late on in the year! I am really looking forward to studying again and it will be so nice to finally say I have achieved my LLB, not because I have studied it differently to how I have imagined but because ever since I can remember I have really wanted to achieve this and I will finally be able to say I have.

–  Towards the end of the summer term at Uni last year (I say last year, I mean May/June time) I was fortunate once again to participate in some advocacy activities as well as support other students.  I really enjoy being able to work on my own advocacy skills, but find it so rewarding helping other students as well.

– You may have noticed that I have been tweeting quite a bit for UniLawStudents and whilst this is currently in the process of a website reshuffle (soon to be going properly live), I organised a competition for students to get involved in.  The competition has now closed but I will be posting the details on here, just so you can see the sort of things I have been up to as well as give you a feel for the other competitions that will be going up towards the end of the month and in September.

I will be back a bit later on with a blog post for you on something legal, and will remember to upload the ULS competition information at some point over the coming weeks.
