As you know I visited Alcatraz last June the day after I arrived in San Francisco as it was one of the places I had wanted to visit for a very long time!<\/p>\n

Quick note: If you are visiting San Francisco and plan to visit Alcatraz you need to book tickets in advance, sometimes they are booked up at least a month in advance.<\/p>\n

Would I recommend visiting Alcatraz? –\u00a0Absolutely – I had the best time, it was everything I expected and more and I could have spent even longer there than I did. \u00a0What is great about your Alcatraz ticket is that whilst you are on a specific ferry out to the Island, you can come back on any ferry, which means you can spend as long as you want there.<\/p>\n

Though do take a coat, it is very grey and windy on the Island. \u00a0It was sunny around San Francisco and strappy top weather, but I am grateful that I wore jeans, converse and took a cardigan and coat with me. \u00a0Layering is key for the Island, and the ferry (it is so windy and cold), plus you do need to be wearing sensible shoes! \u00a0I am normally a flipflop girl, but was grateful for enclosed shoes, it is rough terrain and cold!<\/p>\n

So here<\/a> is the link to\u00a0the photos I took on my phone, \u00a0I will get my fancy camera photos up as soon as possible. \u00a0Some of you have asked why I took photos on both, and the main reason was so I could share as much of my holiday with you all on social media and on my blog whilst I was away. \u00a0I didn’t take my MacBook Pro with me so I would not have been able to upload photos for you to see whilst I was away, or input them into the blog posts I wrote when I was in America.<\/p>\n
