{"id":1026,"date":"2015-05-31T08:29:29","date_gmt":"2015-05-31T07:29:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lawyerinthemaking.co.uk\/?p=1026"},"modified":"2015-05-31T17:22:42","modified_gmt":"2015-05-31T16:22:42","slug":"shorter-more-flexible-earlier-trials-does-this-sound-like-a-viable-idea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lawyerinthemaking.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/05\/31\/shorter-more-flexible-earlier-trials-does-this-sound-like-a-viable-idea\/","title":{"rendered":"Shorter, more flexible, earlier trials \u2013 does this sound like a viable idea?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The New Law Journal published a post last week on the 14<sup>th<\/sup> May 2015, where they stated that judges have made recommendations whereby they would like to pilot \u00a0new procedures which could provide methods of achieving shorter and earlier trials.<\/p>\n<p>During the review process, most of the work undertaken focused on business-related litigation, and the review committee recommended the adoption of a piloted \u201cshorter trial\u201d procedure and a piloted \u201cflexible trial\u201d procedure.<\/p>\n<p>So what would the shorter trial procedure involve \u2013 ideally proceedings would be more streamlined, therefore cases would receive a judgement within a year, cases would also be managed by docketed judges and the trial would last no more than four days?<\/p>\n<p>What are your views?
